Yamaha 471 is a good flute?
It is sterling (Silver Head, body, foot), with a Gold Plated lip, Open Hole, offset G, B foot, and a split E mechanism. It is part of the online Allegro, apart from Division I looks very similar to the 461. My teacher personally like Yamaha (and other Japanese brands such as Muramatsu, but I want to spend less than $ 2000) and recommends this flute. Does anyone who owns and has played the YFL 471? Would you recommend? Are there quality other brands that are good for a good price (we already know about the Pearl Quantz Coda, but my teacher again, prefer Yamaha …)? Thank you! I tried the YFL 471 YFL 461. I think the 461 (no split E mechanism, with all the silver and gold plated lip) sounds better. Have to go with that. Is it possible that the mechanism of E makes the sound worse? 
I Jupiter has a flute with a Gold Lip, open hole, offset G, B, and foot and I really like. But my first flute was a Jupiter, so I'm partial to them. Maybe I should go to a music store and try different models and see which one fits best. Do not buy something just because your teacher tells you to, see what works best for you.
