Would a Selmer Signet Clarinet be good, even if used, and what exactly to say that re-padding?
This is a smaller instrument mediumish quality. If he was in Good Condition would probably be pretty good for a beginner. Some were made with a wood interior and exterior plastic, which for various reasons, is advantageous. Repadding however, can be an expensive procedure that can cost as much or more than you would pay for an instrument that is used as the seal of Selmer. If needs a complete repad cost about three hundred dollars. The only instrument that may need a repad though partial, would cost much less. Oh, instrument Woodwind key stamp pads with felt and cork. Over time, these pads are worn and need replacement. Therefore repad. If a Wind Instrument Wood does not heal properly can play out of tune or even not at all.
