Clay Whistle Flute
help with my whistle/art class?
i have a art project i need to make a whistle/flute out of clay? what makes a whistle whistle? two small holes? one big one small? plus any ideas in design i was thinking turtle lol.
Okay, so I’ve managed to find a ton of good resources, links, instructions, etc.
While I’ve thrown a few down below, you should know that I googled “design whistle clay”, “make whistle clay”, and “make ocarina clay”, since an ocarina is very similar to a whistle, and likewise will be relatively easy to make.
I thought the dragon ocarina looked insanely sick, but it would also require making a mold – I wasn’t sure how far you wanted to go with this, but if you had the time/ability to do something like that, you could presumably end up with a really sweet instrument (definitely “A” quality!).
I’ve added a Clay Ocarina instructable, a clay whistle PDF (google “free pdf reader” if your browser doesn’t already support reading pdf’s), a power point slide (and an html version for those of us who can’t see power point slides – I don’t know if you’ll be able to see it correctly or not, but I use Firefox if that matters), one pretty spiffy tutorial (the hominid.net link has pictures! oooo….)….
Yeah. You should definitely be able to figure something with all of this knowledge. If someone with no formal education and nothing but a stick, some mud, and a fire can do it, then you *certainly* can (at least after Googling it! *grin*).
