Flute Care Kit
Flute Care Kit….would you buy it?

I am an intermidate player so I dont need fancy stuff.
I was whinking of buying this…what do you think?
Is it worth the price?

I would definitely NOT buy this product, let me list the reasons why.
1. The silver polishing cloth with strip your flute of its precious silver which will make the tone of your flute worse and eventually you won’t have any silver left!
2. The powder papers to use under the keys to remove grease and prevent sticking do not work and you should never ever put anything under your keys because of the risk of damaging the pads.
3. The little brush, never ever try to clean between the keywork etc. of your flute because you could easily break something or move a spring out of place and not be able to move it back.
4. The Cork Grease will not help whatsoever with anything, there is hardly any cork on a flute anyway and I can’t think why it would need any lubrication anyway.
5. The flute CD giving you advice can’t be trusted, it could give you false advice and you are far better off getting a private teacher to give you reliable advice.
6. It doesn’t even give you the only two things you need: a soft clean microfiber cloth for getting rid of fingerprints without stripping the flute of its silver, and a padsaver Cleaning Rod to remove moisture from the inside of your flute.
I know it seems like if things like this are selling then you should be buying them and taking care of your flute, but just get it serviced at a reliable music store every 6-12 months, use a cleaning rod and microfiber cloth after you play your flute and your flute will be perfectly clean, happy and play well for years!
